Installation

A pet and play area is only as good as what is under it. On Houston clay, the dirt comes out and a draining base goes in before any turf, so rain and rinse water run through instead of pooling.
Clear it out
Worn grass and soil come out, and the yard is graded so water has somewhere to go.
Build the base
A compacted, free-draining aggregate base goes down, the layer that keeps the turf flat and dry.
Lay the turf
Turf is cut to the beds and edges, seamed and filled, then brushed and handed over ready to play.

No, when installed right. We build a draining base and can add antimicrobial infill, and a quick rinse keeps it clean and odor-free.
It warms in direct sun like any surface, but a quick rinse cools it fast, and shaded play areas stay comfortable. We can also recommend cooler-running infill.
